30 Day Book Challenge - Day 6: Your favourite authors

Day 6Your favourite authors.

My hands-down favourite author is:

I have read Dean Koontz novels since I was a teenager! I consider his books to be more like psychological thrillers than true horror. What is most terrifying about Koontz's books are the psychological cat-and-mouse games that his antagonist plays. His books are scary because they could really happen! Koontz is my "go to" author when I want a good scary read! I can count on his books not being a disappointment. Well, actually, except for Breathless, but let's not go there...

Another favourite author that I have read since my teenage years is:

 John Saul

John Saul's books are more typically horror because they usually feature paranormal elements. Saul is another "go to" author when I want something scary!

Both Koontz and Saul are long-time favourites.

Here are some new favourites that I have discovered more recently:

  J.R Ward

I discovered Ward's "Black Dagger Brotherhood" series in 2011. I was never a fan of "romance," but Ward is the reason why Paranormal Romances are one of my favourite genres! Her vamps are dark and sexy! Love her!!

 Patricia Briggs

Briggs is another favourite Paranormal Romance author! I discovered her "Alpha & Omega" series earlier this year. What Ward does for vamps is what Briggs does for werewolves! Those hot Alphas are something else!

 Rhiannon Frater

I read my first Frater book last month, when I joined the Fraterfest Read-a-Thon. The First Days, Book #1 in the As The World Dies trilogy, is the first book in an extremely long time that actually scared me while reading! I'm talking about heart-pounding, jumpy, and afraid-to-turn-out-the-lights kind of scared! I feel compelled now to read all of her books! I'm a fan!!

What about you? Do you enjoy any of these authors?

    1. Hi, fredamans! I enjoy Stephen King as well! I haven't read any Steinbeck since I was in school, and I haven't read anything yet by the other authors that you mentioned but a number of Lauren Oliver's books are on my TBR list (Delirium series and Liesl & Po). Jessica Brody has one coming out next year that is on my Wishlist, Unremembered.
