Hooray, I'm on holidays! I'm off for Christmas Break with my kids and, while I would love to disconnect 100% from media, I'm actually still checking my work emails to forward anything time sensitive to my assistant to deal with. But at least I don't have to go into the office! I'm still hoping to squeeze in some Christmas baking either today or tomorrow.

We actually got some fresh snow yesterday to make everything look extra white and Christmas-y. You can't see the snow falling in the pic below, but you can see that the snow brought visitors to my yard hoping to find some food (they did and they finished it already)!

Only five more days of work left until I am on Christmas Break with the girls! Yes, I can't wait!! This week will be a whirlwind of trying to get everything done before I leave on holidays. We aren't going away anywhere, but we have family coming in over the holidays to visit.

Well, we got our first big dump of snow this week, so that's pretty darn good!! The snow held off this year until nearly December! We received between 9-11 cm of snow, so that made for a very slow drive home from work on Wednesday and lots of shovelling that evening. Because of the snowfall, the temps have been pretty mild with daytime highs of -6 degrees Celsius but by the end of next week that's going to drop drastically with highs of -15 degrees Celsius. On the upside, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!! I do love the snow. My furry friends must be hiding in the forest.

I just finished For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund and I just had to buy the prequel and sequel from the Amazon Kindle Store even though I hate reading e-books:

Wow, can you believe it?! Thank goodness for Black Friday Sales. I think I've pretty much finished all my Christmas shopping for the girls, plus for my younger daughter's birthday which is also in December, with my online purchases. I still have a few gifts to buy for great-nieces and my great-nephew but the major shopping is done!!

It didn't happen. Winnipeg didn't win last week's Western Semi-Final so we will not be going to Grey Cup today. Bummer!! I can't stand to see the Calgary Stampeders win, so I am rooting for the Ottawa Redblacks!

It was another busy week! I celebrated my birthday with my brother (I was born on his 10th birthday), and my daughter went to her friend's birthday party in the snow followed by my daughter taking part in the Santa Claus Parade. She was on one of the floats, along with other school patrols. It was fun, but it was also very cold with a windchill of -27 degrees Celsius (-16 degrees Fahrenheit). My toes were so numb after three hours and one of my fingers still can't bend without pain! The cold really does affect your joints!

It's Game Day today: CFL Western Finals between Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Calgary Stampeders. Whoever wins today will play the winner of the Eastern Final (Hamilton or Ottawa) in the Grey Cup!

Kind of a downer of a weekend. My aunt passed away earlier this week and her funeral was yesterday, and my younger daughter has the stomach flu today. Poor girl 😡 she has had a tummy ache for the past couple of days and today the vomiting started. Hopefully it doesn't run through the rest of the household!

As you can see from the pic below, the snow finally hit and I think it's here to stay. I got about another eight bags of leaves bagged but didn't beat the snow so the rest will remain there until Spring!
