Hi, everyone! Time for another 2012 Reading Challenge!!
This challenge sounds interesting. I like the idea of stretching the boundary of what I normally read. This challenge is being hosted by Reading Rendezvous Reviewsz.

The Versatile Reading Challenge 2012
The reading challenge offers you the chance to diversify your reading throughout the year. Novels will be selected by various ethnic authors,genres, topics or subject matters.
The challenge is divided into Quarters.
Jan. - March
April - Jun
July - Sept.
Oct. - Dec.
Participates must read one book for each month in the quarter. Your books must match the selected categories for the quarter.
You can challenge yourself to complete One, Two, Three or Four quarters which will conclude the year. You are free to skip a quarter and join another quarter, Its up to you!!
I will make recommend reads for each month but you are free to choose your own novels
Each month participates will link using the linky. The linky will be opened after the 10th of each month.

How do you win!!!
You must collect birthstones - You collect birthstones by reading the books. Each birthstone has a value. Winners will be selected using either the birthstones or value of the stones or a combination.

January Gem is the Garnet - 20 points earned - Quarter One - February Challenge: Non-fiction challenge in recognition of Black/African American History Month.Recommended novels: Rough Crossing by Simon Schama, Blood Done Signed My Name by Timothy Tyson or The Echo from Dealey Plaza by Abraham Bolden.
My pick: Claudette Colvin: Twice Toward Justice by Phillip Hoose - Quarter One - March Challenge: In recognition of AIDS month, a fiction or non-fiction book ab out AIDS. Novel must be about sisters, not sisters and a brother, sisters are the protagonist.
Recommended novels: Confessions of a Lonely Soul by Harold L. Turley II and Consequences: When Love Is Blind by Linda R. Herman.
My pick: Penitent, with Roses: An HIV+ Mother Reflects by Paula W. Peterson

I thank you for joining my reading challenge. for the month of Feb. i listed three books.I notice you did also and I was hoping this had not confuse you. We will be reading only one book. I listed three to provide more choices. all deadlines are by the 25th of each month.
