A modern Cheyenne chief tells his story and the story of many Plains Indians today. Good information about Plains Indian culture written in a warm and personal manner, like a grandfather to his grandchildren.

MY REVIEW:

I read this book aloud with my children.

This book is nonfiction. It is the story of the Plains Indians told by William White Buffalo, a Northern Cheyenne Native American. Most of what he tells is about the Montana Indians, but applies also to nearly all Indians of the Plains.

Some of things that we learned included who the Plains Indians are and where they came from, where and how they live, foods they eat, their education (past and present), and religious beliefs and practices. William White Buffalo relates the information in such a way that is interesting and easy to understand.

We loved this book! I highly recommend including this book in your studies of Native Americans.

MY RATING: 5 stars!! Loved it!!
