Favourite Moms in Literature #TopTenTuesday

This is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week, they post a new Top Ten list that one of their bloggers will answer. Everyone is welcome to join!

Today's list is a Mother's Day related freebie. I'm going with:

Favourite Moms in Literature

  1. Mrs. Weasley (Harry Potter series): She's warm and loving to her brood and not afraid to give them a good scolding when needed (like that Howler she sent to Ron). She actually reminds me a lot of my mom, LOL! She welcomed Harry with open arms.
  2. Ma (Room): This woman tried to give her son a normal upbringing, despite being confined to a shed.
  3. Mrs. Little (Stuart Little): Here's another warm and loving mom, who welcomes a mouse into her family. When she and her husband wanted to adopt a brother for their son, who would have thought they'd be bringing home a mouse!
  4. Mrs. Quimby (Ramona series): I loved this series when I was a kid, and I loved how Mrs. Quimby always knew just the right thing to say and do. She seemed like the perfect mom to me!
  5. Mrs. Ingalls (Little House series): Here's another favourite series from childhood. This mom worked hard from sun-up to sun-down! Always patient and loving with her family, a perfect role model for her children!

So, who are your favourite literary moms? Please let me know in the comments, or leave me a link to your blog post if you are also participating in the meme!

  1. I think I've seen Molly Weasley on every list like this! And she totally deserves it, she's the best.

  2. Mrs. Weasley really has made a ton of lists this week, and it's really not hard to see why!

  3. I was just about to say the same thing, Allyson. If only Molly Weasley was a real person. She'd love all of this adoration even if she'd also be embarrassed by it. :)

Mrs. Ingalls was another good choice as well.

    Here is my TTT.

    1. I wouldn't have wanted to be a mom in the days of Mrs. Ingalls. I think it would have been so tough!

  4. I think I've seen Mrs Weasley on like every list this week! Good reason though, she's such a great mum.
