Armchair Book Expo is the experience for book bloggers to participate in Book Expo from the comfort of their homes. This experience is created lovingly by book bloggers specifically for our peers who for whatever reason are not able to participate in the main conference in New York each year. We bring publishers, authors, and bloggers together in celebrating our love for all things literary by hosting celebrations such as sneak peeks, daily discussion topics, and sponsored giveaways.
My current read . . . is Unspoken by Lisa Jackson, and I'm also reading an autobiography/memoir by Alice Cooper called Alice Cooper, Golf Monster. I'm listening to Souljacker by Yasmine Galenorn, and I'm reading the second book in the Oz series, The Marvelous Land of Oz by L. Frank Baum, aloud to my younger daughter.
My summer plans . . . spending time in my lovely backyard with my kids in the evenings and on the weekend!
My buddy . . . meet Trixie. She actually is my older daughter's cat, but she enjoys lying on my lap in the evenings if she can catch me sitting down.
The best . . . my kids!!
Thanks for sharing and letting us find out more about you and to get to know you better.
ReplyDeleteI haven't stopped by for a while.
I have been getting into audio books again. I used to listen to them when I drove to work, but when I retired, I didn't listen any more.
When I found OverDrive, I downloaded audio books to listen to while working around the house or walking. Love it.
Have a fun week.

Armchair BookExpo Introduction
Listening to audiobooks while doing chores makes them feel less mundane! My earbuds are in when I get out of the shower and stay in until the kids get up! I also love listening on my work commute.
DeleteTrixie could be my Tortuga's twin. I'm currently listening to Chopping Spree by Diane Mott Davidson while I'm visiting blogs for Armchair Book Expo.

I'm not familiar with that book but it sounds like it could be a cozy mystery? I'd love to see a pic of Tortuga!
DeleteGreat intro! Thank you for sharing! That is a gorgeous back yard.

Thanks, Steph!
DeleteI don't have a cat any more, but I always enjoy a glimpse of other bloggers' pets. :) I hope you're enjoying the Oz readaloud, those were my favorite books as a child.
ReplyDeleteI've never read the entire series, but it's something I"ve wanted to do for a long time!
DeleteI was never an audiobook listener until I became a mom. It makes housework much more pleasant when I can listen to a book!
ReplyDeleteMe, too! With kids, I have no time to sit down and read...except at bedtime and then I'm too tired! Audiobooks are wonderful for being able to multi-task.
DeleteTrixie is adorable! I miss having a cat to keep me company on the couch as I read, but am working on talking my husband into adopting a new one. Silly man seems to think that two dogs are enough. Not even close! ha!

Yes, silly man! I think cats are more snuggly than dogs. I had three, but two of them died last year and I'm just not ready to expand my household again. Trixie is enjoying being the queen of the castle and getting ALL the attention, LOL!
DeleteI LOVE cats! We have three! Glad to see you doing Armchair BEA too, Darlene!

I had three cats as well, but two of them died last year so now we are done to just one. It's a big adjustment to the household.
DeleteOh what a lovely backyard!! I hope you have a wonderful summer :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Erica!
DeleteThat's a nice backyard! Reading outside in the summer is my favorite :)
