The Alyx Rayer Chronicles Blog Tour: Guest Post and Giveaway with S.J. Pierce

Hi, everyone!

I am pleased to participate in the Blog Tour hosted by Xpresso Book Tours for S.J. Pierce's The Alyx Rayer Chronicles.

About Susan:

Susan James Pierce has a degree in Marketing Management, works for a Fortune 500 company in Atlanta, Georgia, and devotes her precious, spare time to writing Fantasy and Sci-fi novels.

Even though her full-time career has nothing to do with books at all, she has always enjoyed complex storytelling with fascinating characters, and has had a penchant for the written word since grade school. As a matter of fact, her first publishing credit was a poem she wrote at the age of twelve. Why her love for writing never translated into a career, she can only attribute to 'life happens', but her wish is that she can redirect her career path into something that satisfies her creative inner-self.

10 Things You Didn't Know About S.J. Pierce
by S.J. Pierce

1) I love dogs! All breeds, sizes, you name it. I tell my family all the time that if I ever come into money, I’m purchasing a farm and becoming the crazy dog lady. But until then, I’ll settle for my indoor pug. :)

2) Even though I’m thirty, I’m almost entirely grey! I’ve had to dye my hair since my early twenties. And I can thank my great grandmother for that who was entirely grey by the time she was thirty. Thanks, Gramma Bailey! *sigh*

3) I’m a professionally-trained cake decorator. Now, if I could just get the baking thing down I could probably make a good living at it! Ha!

4) If you ever see me giggling at inappropriate times it’s probably because I have an exceptionally dirty mind and can make a sexual innuendo out of almost anything. I blame it on being raised with two boys! :) (That’s my story and I’m sticking to it)

5) I’m clumsy. Really clumsy. And I’m all arms, legs and feet, which doesn’t help. I was even a ballerina for ten years and still can’t manage to walk without stumbling or catching a toe on furniture half the time!

6) I need to enroll myself into NAA – Nutella Addicts Anonymous. I blame a friend of mine for introducing me to it last year, and since then I’ve gotten all my other friends addicted to it and we all have a weekly competition to see who can find the best things to dip into it. Must… fight… sexual innuendo…

7) Despite the fact that I have a paralyzing fear of ghosts and demons, I also have a morbid curiosity for them! I like to do ghost tours and watch movies/shows about them, even if I won’t sleep for a week afterward. (I know, I’m weird)

8) You wouldn’t know it to meet me, but I’m a lover of bluegrass music – the backyard kind where everyone has bare feet, drinks from mason jars, and wears their finest pair of overalls. Don’t get me wrong, I have a southern accent so it’s quite obvious I was born and raised in the South, but I polish up quite nicely since I have a professional job in the city. But if you tell me there’s a bluegrass festival in town, I’ll be there faster than you can say “pickin’ and grinnin’!” :)

9) To add to my list of abilities, I enjoy almost any art and craft you throw my way. Besides cake decorating, I’ve also painted canvases and made and sold jewelry. Creating is my forte, which is why I love writing so much!

10) I’m a sucker for helping others – a bleeding heart, I think they call it. If there were enough hours in the day and money in my wallet, I would try to help everyone and everything. My recent endeavor is giving to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A percentage of my sales from the Alyx Rayer Chronicles go to them. I’ve also made a vow to pick a charity with every book I write and donate a percentage of sales. It’s my way of giving back!

Thanks so much for joining us today, Susan!

GENRE: Adult Paranormal Romance

Alyx Rayer’s existence in Atlanta, the eternally bustling capital of Georgia, is one of routine and blending in among the worker bees. But her ‘normal’ life is actually a façade for a higher calling; she's a three hundred year old soul, encased in a human vessel and sent from the darkness between heaven and Earth to capture her Marked when summoned by her superiors.

During the initial, routine stake-out of her Marked, a dream prophet named Isaac Walsh, Alyx is thrown for an emotional loop when his allure captivates her heart from two rooftops away. The event marks the very instance when her sense of what’s right and what’s wrong is brutally challenged as her contact with him is strictly forbidden.

While already trapped between honor and desire, her emotional struggles are further challenged by a man in a black suit who continually pops up when she least expects it, his presence evoking a strange response from the scar she was branded with at birth. The scar tingles like a warning beacon, alerting her that something is amiss. Because her superiors never told her what this would mean, or much of anything except what to do when they summon, she can only conclude to try and keep her sanity, and her life, from completely shattering to pieces.

This engaging first book of the series is a Paranormal Romance novel interlaced with twists, turns, and thrilling suspense that is sure to satisfy readers of any genre.
