I won these autographed softcovers in a giveaway hosted by Lucy at Enchanted by Josephine:
Now, this giveaway has a bit of a history! I actually won Madame Tussaud over a year ago, and the package was shipped out three times but none of the packages ever arrived. I suggested that the author send with a tracking number, and I FINALLY received the package this week on the fourth try! Unfortunately, I did not receive the Marie Antoinette Cupcake Earrings that were to be included in the giveaway as they were lost in the first shipment. However, the author did gift me with a copy of her latest book, The Second Empress, as a consolation.
Thanks again, Lucy & Michelle, for your perseverance!
I received this paperback as a Random Act of Kindness from Kevin at We're Really Falling Apart:

Thanks so much for your kindness, Kevin! I've been dying to get my hands on this one and can't wait to read it!

Thanks, Valia! And thanks for leaving your link. I'll pop over to see what goodies you received!
DeleteI'm so, so glad the package arrived! And I *can't* believe it :~0 I included not one, but TWO pairs of earrings this last time. There must be some sort of black hole between your house and mine! What on earth?!
ReplyDeleteHi, Michelle! That is truly bizarre!! Did you see the photo of the battered packaging that I emailed to Lucy? It's possible that the earrings may have slipped out of the package because it was torn in two places :( No worries, though - I'm just thrilled to finally have the books :)
DeleteThere is only one answer. The post office clearly has a vendetta against me.
DeleteMaybe take it as a compliment that the postal carriers love your books so much that they keep snagging the packages for themselves! :)
DeleteYou are so lucky to win so many contests. Too bad the packages don't always arrive in good condition. My new book posts are at Ms. Martin Teaches Media and Inside of a Dog. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteHi, Kathy! I do seem to be blessed with book giveaway winnings!! I guess I am destined to read :)
