Katherine at November's Autumn has created writing prompts for each month of the challenge. This month's focus will be on: Lasting Impression.
What is a moment, quote, or
character that you feel will stay with you? Years from now, when some of
the details have faded, that lasting impression the book has left you
with... what is it? --or why did it fail to leave an impression?
I just finished A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. I loved the book! The character of Owen Meany is one that is going to definitely stay with me. As I indicated in my review, I fell in love with Owen Meany with all of his idiosyncrasies and the way he viewed the world. While
most of us would be fearful of having a vision of our deaths, Owen embraced it
and it gave him purpose in his life. His faith in God never wavered and that, for me, is pretty powerful!
At the end of the book, when everything came together, I literally had goose bumps! Irving wrapped up all the pieces of the
story brilliantly!
