Stacking The Shelves and Sunday Post

This meme is hosted by Tynga over at Team Tynga's Reviews, which she describes as follows:

"Stacking The Shelves is all about the books we are adding to our shelves each week, sharing with you our excitement for our newest titles and maybe have you discover a new book in the process!"

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

Last weekend was a rainy weekend, but the rain stopped long enough on Sunday that I did manage to get the pool closed! As you can see from all the leaves on the ground, it was none too soon! I am going to have to replace the ball valve which is the shut-off for the solar panels, because I could barely turn it this summer. I guess those things just get worn out. My skimmer is cracked as well, and I'm debating whether to replace it now or in the Spring. I guess I'll order it and see if I have enough time to get it done before the snow comes!

We had a thunderstorm on Wednesday night that dropped more than a month's worth of rain (62.8 mm) and, as you can see from the pic above, my grass is green again! This was our 16th driest summer on record with moderate drought conditions, so this rain was desperately needed. However, now I need to pump all that water off the pool liner! More rain is expected this week and our temps are dropping. Autumn has definitely arrived!

I won these e-books during the Spring Into Horror Read-a-Thon hosted by Michelle @ Seasons of Reading:

  1. Looks like you are all set for autumn! I think we (in Virginia) have a few weeks of summer yet to come, but I'm looking forward to cooler temperatures soon. Enjoy your new books, and have a great week!

  2. Ha! Don't talk about dry grass! We had a very dry summer and the grass looks fried! Now with fall coming our way I hope she will resurrect somehow ;-) Happy Sunday! Sophie @bewareofthereader

  3. Yay for getting the yard ready for fall. We had so much rain the last few weeks I had to pay someone to cut the lawn. Everytime my hubby was home it was raining and then I feared the bagging of the grass would kill him. Hope your week is a good one!

  4. I love your yard. You’re right, it’s very green. My grass is always brown and dry because it doesn’t rain much here. Have a great week!
