Summer TBR Wipeout: Update Post #1 @candidcover

This is my Update Post #1 for the Summer TBR Wipeout hosted by The Candid Cover.

Week of July 15th: Update post #1- Tell us how your reading has been going so far. What books have you read? Were they enjoyable? What’s next on your TBR? Etc.

My reading has gone really well so far! I have finished eight books:

Some Girls Bite
by Chloe Neill
(Chicagoland Vampires, Book #1)

Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal
by Christopher Moore

by Kathryn Lasky
(Guardians of Ga'Hoole, Book #3)
[read-aloud to my daughter]

by Josh Malerman

Devil to Pay
by Jeaniene Frost
(Night Huntress, Book #3.5)

by Cynthia Hand
(Unearthly, Book #3)

The Cabin at the End of the World
by Paul Tremblay

Zero Day
by Ezekiel Boone
(The Hatching, Book #3)

Of those, my favourite so far was Boundless by Cynthia Hand. The Unearthly series was amazing, and I have a bit of a book hangover! If you love YA Fantasy/Paranormal, I highly recommend the series. The biggest disappointment was Lamb by Christopher Moore. I'm a huge Moore fan, and this one just didn't click with me. That was followed by a close second, The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay. For a book that is touted as a "heart-palpitating novel of psychological suspense," it was anything but!

I'm currently reading:

Starry Night
by Debbie Macomber
[for COYER's Christmas In July Read-a-Thon]

Promise Me
by Richard Paul Evans
[for COYER's Christmas In July Read-a-Thon]

by Joel Osteen

by Erin Hunter
(Warriors, Book #5)
[read-aloud to my daughter]

edited by Miriam Matejova

by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend

Next up on my TBR:
by Kenneth Oppel

by Debbie Macomber
