This is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week, they post a new Top Ten list that one of their bloggers will answer. Everyone is welcome to join!
Today's list is a Love Freebie in recognition of Valentine's Day:
Favourite Romances
I'm NOT a Harlequin kind of girl, and I never EVER considered myself to be a romance reader before I started blogging in 2010. I still don't typically enjoy contemporary romances (I prefer Paranormal Romances or Romantic Suspense), but there are a few exceptions.
Wallbanger
by Alice Clayton
(Cocktail, Book #1)
From my review: "This isn’t the type of book that I would normally pick up, but I’m so glad that I did! What makes this one stand out for me is how funny it is!! I was laughing out loud while listening, and it really was just a perfect escape for me."
Twelve Days of Christmas
by Debbie Macomber
I love Macomber's holiday romances! This one gave me all the feels. From my review: "I loved, loved, loved this book! I read Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow last year during the holidays, and this one is even better!! I am NOT someone who ordinarily reads contemporary romances, but holiday romances turn my heart to mush."
Beautiful Disaster
by Jamie McGuire
(Beautiful, Book #1)
From my review: "I do not like stories with unrealistic couples whose relationships are perfect. McGuire’s characters feel so real to me, and her story had me absolutely riveted!"
Halfway to the Grave
by Jeaniene Frost
(Night Huntress, Book #1)
I love Cat & Bones! I recommend this series if you enjoy Paranormal Romances.
Lover Eternal
by J.R. Ward
(Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book #2)
I'm glad that I gave this series another chance. I liked the first book in the series, Dark Lover, but wasn't wow'ed. This one got me hooked!
Outlander
by Diana Gabaldon
(Outlander, Book #1)
Jamie Fraser is totally swoon-worthy! He is quite possibly the most romantic hero that I've ever read!
Water Bound
by Christine Feehan
(Sisters of the Heart, Book #1)
This Paranormal Romance series is very steamy!
Twilight

Twilight
by Stephenie Meyer
(The Twilight Saga, Book #1)
Yup, I loved this series! But I was more Team Jacob than Team Edward.
by Kresley Cole
(The Dacians, Book #1)
When I started this series, I didn't realize that it was a spin-off of the Immortals After Dark series (still need to read that!). It didn't matter because I absolutely loved it!
by Gena Showalter
(Otherworld Assassin, Book #1)
From my review: "Showalter’s alternate fantasy world is filled with so many unique creatures! There is a great variety of Otherworlders, each with their own traits and gifts." It's another great Paranormal Romance series.
by Eliza Knight
(Highland Bound, Book #1)
This one was an unexpected surprise. It reminds me of Outlander but more explicit.
So, what are your favourite romances? Please let me know in the comments, or leave me a link to your blog post if you are also participating in the meme!
Yeah, I'm a lot like you. Most of the time, I'm not into romance...but there are occasional exceptions to that rule.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday.
You listed a couple that I've read. Macomber has some great books. I've only read Outlander, but keep meaning to continue the series.
ReplyDeleteIt's not my 'type' of book but I'd totally be tempted to pick up Wallbanger just from the awesomeness of the title.
ReplyDeleteMy 'love freebie' TTT this week.
Love, love so many of these!
