Stacking The Shelves and Sunday Post

This meme is hosted by Tynga over at Team Tynga's Reviews, which she describes as follows:

"Stacking The Shelves is all about the books we are adding to our shelves each week, sharing with you our excitement for our newest titles and maybe have you discover a new book in the process!"

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

Last week was bad. This week was worse :(

My uncle's funeral was on Monday, and then I discovered a betrayal from someone very close to me that broke my heart. To top off an already devastating week, my car was indeed written off and the total loss settlement was less than I was expecting. I did fight for more and received an additional $925 over the original settlement offer, and I probably could have gotten another $200 if I fought a bit more but my heart just wasn't in it :(

Yesterday was an exhausting day car shopping, but I found one in the price range that I was looking for. It's a little smaller than my Pontiac Grand Am, but I think it's a nice little car. It's a 2016 Kia Forte LX:

This means that I won't have a car to give my daughter next year, but maybe we can find a cheaper car for her in another year.

It's hard to believe that it's December already and that Christmas is just around the corner! I'm actually thankful that a new year is nearly upon us. It's been a painful year in many ways, and I need to leave that behind and not carry it with me. I'm praying for a happier and more peaceful 2018! I could do with a year of no drama!!

Our weather continues to be mild, and I'm enjoying it while it lasts because the colder weather is coming.
