WWW Wednesdays - August 31, 2011

Hi, everyone!

I have decided to participate in this weekly meme hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading.

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

My answers:

• What are you currently reading?

I received this for review from the publisher, Hachette Book Group, through NetGalley. I haven't gotten too far into it yet.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

New York Times bestselling author Ted Dekker teams with Tosca Lee to create this gripping thriller set in a desolate future.

A terrible truth has been revealed to one man: the entire human race has been drained of every emotion except one— fear. To bring life back to the world, Rom must embark on a journey that will end either in his own demise or a reawakening of humanity. But to bring love and passion back into existence will also threaten the powers of the world with the revolution and anarchy that had nearly destroyed them previously.

After happening upon a journal through strange circumstance, Rom's world is shattered. He learns that humanity long ago ceased to "live," that it exists today in a living death of emotions. In a terrible risk, Rom exposes himself to the vial of blood folded into the old leather of the journal. His change is fearful and fraught with mind-bending emotion. A once-pious observer of the Order's passionless statues, he is filled with uncontrollable impulses. He is filled with love.

He is undone, terrified, and alone in the desolate world.

I received this hardcover book for review from the publisher, and I'm just starting it.

A Kid's Guide to being a Winner is a book for young people on the Values of being responsible, being thoughtful, being respectful, having a positive mental attitude and having gratitude. A Kid's guide to being a Winner is about timeless and fundamental principles, which are essential to SUCCESS. I'm still listening to this audiobook which I started last week. I'm a little more than halfway through. I'm not having as much time as I would like to listen to it, but I am enjoying it!

• What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished this fabulous children's picture book which I read aloud to my kids. I posted my review yesterday, which you can read HERE.

I finished this one for an upcoming book tour. Wow, it was fantastic! You'll have to come back on September 15th for my review!

I just finished this one as well for a book tour, and my review should be posted today in a separate blog post.

Next up for review is this book that I received for review for an upcoming book tour.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

After paying two millennia’s penance to Osiris, world-weary Phoenix Ice has had enough. Saving souls without any hope for her own redemption isn’t how she imagined spending eternity. Fed up, she decides her next death will be her last. But when she sacrifices her own life for a sexy Texan in a catastrophic plane crash, she has no idea the consequences will be so great…or that she’ll end up back in his life for her next assignment.

Now that Turner Alcott has survived the worst, finding a wife and mother for his son matters more than ever before. When the mysterious Ice comes into his life, Turner knows she’s the one—but love is the last thing Ice wants. If he wants to win her heart, Turner must teach Ice how to forgive herself, and prove that love is the ultimate sacrifice.

I'm still planning to listen to this one unless I get another audiobook for review. I'm really itching to get back to the Black Dagger Brotherhood!!
