Stacking The Shelves and Sunday Post

This meme is hosted by Tynga over at Team Tynga's Reviews, which she describes as follows:

"Stacking The Shelves is all about the books we are adding to our shelves each week, sharing with you our excitement for our newest titles and maybe have you discover a new book in the process!"

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

I was wishing for a snow day on Monday, and I did indeed get one but not quite what I had in mind! I envisioned a day curled up with a blanket and book in hand. Instead, I had to do four rounds of shovelling :(

Here's my ruler measuring the first dump (it kept snowing steadily even after this):

Here's what my yard looked like when I woke up:

The snow was so wet and heavy that it weighed down the branches so that they were nearly touching the ground on this tree. Lots of branches broke from the weight.

The deer were digging in their usual feeding spot to look for the feed that was buried under all the snow.

My window feeder was a popular spot all day long

We ended up with a total of 22 cm (about 8.6 inches) over a period of 36-hours due to the Colorado Low. We had more snow in this period than in January and February combined! We had only 17 cm of snow in total over those two months.

School buses were not running, so my kids were home with me. Even though I finally had my driveway clear by noon, the road was impassable. There were trucks that were getting stuck in the deep snow, so I wasn't going to chance it with my little car. Our street still hasn't been plowed, and it's terribly bumpy and rutted. At least the snow has been packed down for the most part with all the vehicles driving on it.

I bought this Daily Deal at Audible earlier this week:
