FrightFall Read-a-Thon: Nova's Mini-Challenge #FrightFall

Nova at My Seryniti is hosting this mini-challenge.

Here are the details:
You’re sitting by a campfire with some friends. The wind is blowing and the air is just getting that crisp feeling. The beach is just a few feet in front of you and you can hear the surf crashing upon the shore.
Now… answer these questions.
  • Who would you want warming you up?! (Fictional characters please!!)
  • What are you listening to? (Music or a story)
  • What snacks would you have?
  • We know you brought a book, which one is it!?
  • It’s your turn to tell a spooky story, which one is it going to be?
And just for fun but not part of the challenge…
  • Do you celebrate Halloween?
  • What’s your fav horror story?
  • Fav type of villain? (Vamp, zombie, etc)
  • Fav horror movie?
  • Fav bad guy!
  • Halloween costume you plan on wearing (or would) this year.

I would definitely want Eric Northman from True Blood warming me up! I mean, just look at him:

Who wouldn't want a piece of that?!

Let's see. Me & Eric on a dark beach, cue in some sexy music. We don't need snacks because we have each other, LOL! Bring a book? Who would want to read with Eric around?? The spooky story that I would share is the one with the woman driving on the highway, and there is some lunatic driving behind her flashing his lights and trying to run her off the road. She turns off an exit and dashes into a gas station and tells the attendant to call the police. The person following her from the highway also turns into the station just as the police arrives, and she tells the police to arrest the madman who is trying to kill her. Just as the man from the other vehicle gets out of his car and is nabbed, he screams at them to look in her back seat. Crouched on the floor of the car is a man with a knife. It appears that the man in the car was simply trying to get the woman's attention to save her life! Every time he flashed his headlights from behind, the man would drop out of sight. Moral of the story is to always check your back seat before you get in!

For the fun part:

Yes, I celebrate Halloween. I love to see all the costumed kids that come to the door and hand out treats!

My favourite horror story is Pet Sematary by Stephen King.

My favourite type of villain is a vampire...

...although I find zombies the most frightening!!

My favourite horror movie? Wow, I can't name just one! The first scary movie that I ever saw was The Changeling (1980), and I was just 9 or 10 years old. It freaked me out so bad! That one left an impression on me.

Other favourite horror movies include My Bloody Valentine (1981) and The Exorcist (1973).

A couple of the scariest movies that I've seen are Scream (1996), The Grudge (2004), and The Ring (2002).

Favourite bad guy? Jack Torrance from The Shining. Who could forget: Here's Johnny!

I also love Halloween's Michael Myers:

I don't dress up for Halloween, so I won't be wearing a costume!

Thanks, Nova, for hosting this mini-challenge!

  1. Great little story up above, Darlene! Yes, Eric is quite hot!

The original My Bloody Valentine was awesome! I also agree about Scream, The Ring, and The Grudge. Great job!

    1. Hi, Michelle! Mmmmmm, Eric...I could stare at him all day long, LOL!

I never did see the remake of My Bloody Valentine, but they are never as good as the originals anyway.

  2. Love this!!! Ohhh and I really loved that story. I don't think I've heard that one. Definitely checking my back seat but I think Stephen King taught me that anyway! LOL
