Tracy from Tracy's Treasure of Books contacted me last week to ask whether I would be interested in doing a guest post on her blog. She has a weekly meme called "Tell Me About You Thursday", where she features fellow book bloggers. I agreed only on the condition that she is featured on MY blog!
Below is our Q&A session, which is followed by a link to Tracy's blog where you can read her interview of ME!
Favorite genre of books?
I am a romantic at heart, so anything that has a touch of romance to it, is really good for me. It can be in any setting, but you want something to make your heart pound just a little harder, or just make you sigh and go "awwww."
What made you want to blog?
Actually, I'm not sure. I had been reading book blogs for awhile and just decided one evening, why not give it a shot. I love to read, and I was pretty good in school (way back in the day), so why not put it together and share what I like.
Who is your favorite author?
Do I have to pick just one??? I am reading so much more new authors than I ever have, so it is getting harder and harder to choose. Some of my favorites from before though, are Nora Roberts, Danielle Steel, Debbie Macomber, Linda Lael Miller, and Wanda Brustetter.
Did you always like to read, even as a child?
Yes, I loved to disappear in my room and just "hibernate" as my mom always said and read for hours.
If so, what did you enjoy then?
I grew up reading the Laura Ingalls Wilder books, and as many Nancy Drew mysteries that I could get my hands on.
Do you come from a family of readers?
Not big readers, no. My mom and sisters read a lot of magazines but not a lot of books. I guess they prefer the quick reads.
What is your favourite book or series of books?
That is something that I really don't have. I just love to read!
What is your favourite part of blogging?
Reading and sharing with everybody, of course. But I also, am really loving meeting all the other book-lovers out there and all these wonderful writers!
Do you have any favourite tips on blogging or writing?
Just do what you enjoy and write about it. Just be you!
How do you find the time to do it all, family, work, friends, blog???
I don't sleep much anymore, so I read and blog a lot when everyone else is either working or sleeping.
Best site for networking and promoting your blog?
I spend a lot of time at Goodreads and Book Blogs. I'm still new so I am still learning about different places.
Favourite pastime other than blogging?
I love spending time with my family, crocheting, and spending a lot of time with my dogs.
Some of your favorite blogs that you follow?
Oh I follow a bunch, but here are a few:
Reviews by Martha's Bookshelf
Romance Book Junkies
The Barn Door Loft
Long And Short Reviews
My Life One Story At a Time
Thanks so much, Tracy, for giving us an opportunity to get to know you! It has been a lot of fun!!

Hi, Donna! I'm glad you enjoyed reading our guest posts!
ReplyDeleteHi Darlene; thanks for the note on Book Blogs! I am following back.
ReplyDeleteI read your sharing today over at Tracy's Treasure of Books and thought I would hop over. I have signed up to follow you blog and look forward to reading more of what you have to say.
ReplyDeleteI always wonder how everyone fits everything in. I'm lucky to be a stay at home mom and not have to work but sometimes it's still hard to fit in reading time!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the note on Book Blogs and for checking out my blog! I'm now following you :)
Hi, Denise Z. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed reading the posts here and at Tracy's site. Please let me know if you have a blog so that I can follow back!
ReplyDeleteHi, Candace! Thanks for following! I thought it was funny that both Tracy & I said that we "fit it all in" by not sleeping! So true. The only way that I can fit in reading time is by listening to audiobooks. Thank goodness for that!
ReplyDeleteInteresting set of questions. I find it almost impossible to answer any question that has the word "favorite" in it, though. Not only is it tough to name one book, genre, or whatever over all others, but my preferences seem to change from week to week. :o)
ReplyDeleteEileen
Eileen, I know what you mean! Our preferences can change on a daily basis!!
