Hi Everyone!
I am very pleased to be visiting here today to talk about my upcoming novel that was just released on July 1 by Champagne Book’s! It’s been quite the journey writing, Forever Man, and one I will never forget. I mean, how can you forget your first!
The Big Day
My name is January Bain and I love to write. There, I’ve confessed my addiction! And now my first book is about to be released and I would dearly love to share my storytelling journey with you.
Where did the idea come from? I remember it as clear as if the moment had just happened: I was watching The Green Mile, and was mesmerized by the idea that the gentle giant, imprisoned unfairly in jail for a crime committed by an another, could heal others by taking on their illness and then just letting the evil flow back into obscurity by exhaling through his lungs. I coveted that gift with every fiber of my being. I had just lost two beloved brothers to cancer and had to stand by and watch it happen. My heroine, Ellie Hightower, was going to have it so much better than me! She was going to have the gift of healing and save those she loved. I know why I write romantic stories—the happy, guaranteed ending.
It’s been an interesting journey, this getting a book polished and ready to be published. Though the learning curve has been pretty steep, I have had the blessing of working with great people who have made the journey a whole lot easier. A special thanks to my wonderful editor, Judy Griffith Gill and her expertise. She has made me a far better writer.
And to all my wonderful friends in the writing world, your support and friendship has meant more to me than you can know!
I would also like to thank J. Ellen Smith, our esteemed publisher for her invaluable guidance in getting my first novel to the public.
And most of all, my very own “Forever Man”, my wonderful husband, Don, who has made the journey of life the best it can be!
Thanks so much for joining us today, January!
One lucky winner will win a digital copy of January's paranormal romance, Forever Man.

What if you had been given the gift of healing and could save those you loved? And furthermore, discovered you could save the one you love from a vampire’s kiss. There is a catch; of course, the cost of such a healing could mean your own death…
Ellie Hightower is discovering such gifts in the novel, Forever Man by January Bain. She is telepathic, young and bright and has been running from these new found gifts all the way to Nome, Alaska where she encounters the man of her dreams, Mike Stone and an ancient evil force out to take him away from her. Will having goodness and light on her side be enough to save them from Katrianna, a newly resurrected vampire that looks to enslave Mike in her nefarious web?
To find out the truth you will need to read, Forever Man, the first in the Forever Series by January Bain.
Excerpt from Forever Man:
The evening started out like every other evening. Then, just after sundown, which I’ve since discovered in Nome is around ten o’clock at night in late August; she walked in—a gorgeous black-haired woman with porcelain skin and dark glittering eyes that seemed old and intense at the same time. Wearing a too short, black-pleated skirt showing fabulous toned upper thighs, a tight white t-shirt stretched across a full bosom, and high stiletto heels, she caused the entire bar to become silent as she provocatively shook her silky, waist-length hair back from her perfect oval face in open doorway. Deliberately and provocatively, she sashayed right up to Mike!
She planted one long, red-painted fingernail on Mike’s broad chest. “I hear you are hiring, Mike Stone and I’m desperately looking for a night job.” The sexy voice held a heavy, exotic tinge of accent I couldn’t place. Mike looked alternatively concerned and flummoxed at the same time. I knew he needed more night help, but this woman?
“So, what do you say, Michael Stone? Will you give me a try?” The woman pushed him a little more with the annoying red fingernail as she set her very red full lips at him in a knowing smile.
One of the more drunken regulars spoke up, “Hell, yes, Mike. Give the woman a chance!”
He looked decidedly uncomfortable and raked his hand through his hair.
The friend of the man who had first given his opinion added a low blow. “What’s the matter—she too much woman for you?” I didn’t like where this was headed.
“Okay.” Mike was obviously very reluctant to agree. “We’ll give you a trial. Have you had any experience working in a bar before, miss?”
The woman stretched like a black panther and purred, “I’ve had lots of experience. And my name is Katrianna—you can call me Kat for short.”
Crap, I was immediately pissed off. Couldn’t Mike see this woman was trouble with a capital K? Julie and I exchanged knowing looks, with Julie rolling her eyes for emphasis as she looked the buxom but slender vixen up and down. Lila and Mavis looked as concerned as I felt as they took in the full effect the new woman was having on the men. Mouths had dropped open and women were looking generally pissed off at the moment. And tips were going to be hard come by tonight, at least from the women, I thought with chagrin.
