Talk about a change of plans! Ms. Frizzle and her class are on the Magic School Bus headed for a museum. They have been studying how the body turns food into energy, and now they are going to see an exhibit on the human body. Things seem fine until they stop for lunch. A strange mishap causes the bus to shrink and then be swallowed! Ms. Frizzle's class is suddenly inside a real human body!

MY REVIEW:

I read this book aloud to my children.

If you have never read any of The Magic School Bus books to your children, they are missing out! These are amazing science picture books filled with fascinating facts!! Ms. Frizzle is a wacky teacher whose school bus possesses some magical abilities and is able to transform into different objects to take the children on exciting field trips! And these are not any type of field trips that you or I have ever taken!

In The Magic School Bus: Inside the Human Body, the school bus shrinks and is accidentally swallowed by Arnold, who is one of the students that dilly-dallied after their picnic and did not make it on the bus with the rest of the students. While Arnold is trying to figure out where his friends and teacher have gone, the class is having an amazing trip through Arnold’s body and learning all about digestion and how our bodies get energy from the food we eat. They learn first-hand how food and blood travel through the body, the function of red and white blood cells, and how the brain and muscles work.

My kids love this educational series! There is also an animated television series on PBS that is based on these books, and we enjoy watching the episodes after we read each book.

MY RATING:

5 stars!! Highly recommended!
