2nds Challenge 2011: Wrap-up Post

Hi, everyone!

This is my wrap-up post for the 2nds Challenge 2011 hosted by Katy at A Few More Pages.

CHALLENGE NOT COMPLETED!

LEVEL ACHIEVED: A FEW MORE BITES
(Read 6 books that are 2nd in a series or the second time you've read the author)

I had signed up for A Full Plate Level, which was to read 12 books that are second in a series or the second time that I have read the author. I came really close, just one book short of reaching this level. I'm actually reading the 12th book now, Crossed by Ally Condie, which is Book #2 of the Matched series.

Here are the 11 "second in a series" books that I read in 2011:

  1. Chosen to Die by Lisa Jackson (Book #2 of Montana's "To Die" Series)
  2. New Moon by Stephenie Meyer (Book #2 of The Twilight Saga)
  3. Ramona the Pest by Beverly Cleary (Book #2 of the Ramona Quimby Series)
  4. 2nd Chance by James Patterson (Book #2 of the Women's Murder Club Series)
  5. "B" Is For Burglar by Sue Grafton (Book #2 of the Alphabet Mystery, aka Kinsey Millhone, Series)
  6. Gladys Aylward: The Adventure of a Lifetime by Janet & Geoff Benge (Christian Heroes: Then & Now series)
  7. Hide by Lisa Jackson (Book #2 of the Detective D.D. Warren Series)
  8. Lover Eternal by J.R. Ward (Book #2 of the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series)
  9. Forbidden by Ted Dekker and Tosca Lee (Book #1 of The Books of Mortals Series) (this is the second time that I have read a novel by Ted Dekker)
  10. Lord of Rage by Jill Monroe (Book #2 of the Royal House of Shadows Series)
  11. Heart of Steel by Meljean Brook (Book #2 of the Iron Seas Series)
The Black Dagger Brotherhood series has become my favourite series of 2011. Lover Eternal, the second one, is one of my favourites in the series!

I have already finished the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, as well as The Twilight Saga. I am planning to continue reading each of the other series and reading more books by the authors that I have had "seconds" of this year!

I have learned that I really enjoy reading books that are part of a series. I have also found it harder to continue reading the series that I have started because I am already jumping into a new series without finishing off the ones that I am already reading! So many good books, so little time :)

Thanks again for hosting, Katy! I'm already signed up for the 2012 challenge!
