Clara is desperate to get away—from the memories that haunt her in Wyoming and the visions of a future she isn't ready to face—and spending the summer in Italy with her best friend, Angela, should be the perfect escape. . . .

For as long as she can remember, Angela has been told that love is dangerous, that she must always guard her heart. But when she met Phen two years ago she was determined to be with him, no matter the costs. Now she must decide whether she can trust Clara with her secret, or if telling her the truth will risk everything she cares about.

Alternating between Angela and Clara's perspectives, Radiant chronicles the unforgettable summer that will test the bounds of their friendship and change their lives forever.

MY REVIEW:

I have been devouring this series, and I'm putting off reading the last book because I don't want it to end!

Clara goes to Rome with Angela. It's not a surprise that the visions have started up again, after what happened at the end of Hallowed

Clara's new vision doesn't reveal a lot at this point, but she feels fear. We also learn about Angela's vision, where she sees an older man in a suit standing at the top of some steps with his back to her.

We learn more about Angela's Italian boyfriend, who she hasn't seen in a year. They haven't spoken since the previous summer, and they left off after a fight. When Clara and Angela are out sightseeing, they see him. His name is Phen. Clara recognizes the name immediately. Phen is the angel (Intangere) who told Angela all about angelbloods. His real name is Penamue. Clara doesn't trust him, because he doesn't give off a vibe either way. With her father, she could feel his goodness in his glory. With Samjeeza, she can feel his despair and sorrow. With Phen, Clara's empath side doesn't feel anything. She warns Angela not to tell Phen that she's a Triplare. She doesn't want him to know who her father is.

This novella is an important piece of the Unearthly series. Because it's told from a dual perspective of both Clara and Angela, we find out things about Angela that haven't been revealed so far like how she feels about Clara deep down and what's been going on in her life. While I really enjoyed this, the only reason why I'm not giving it five stars is because there's no Tucker and no Christian! I missed them, but this novella is more about Angela.

Alright, I feel like I'm ready to jump into the last book in this series, Boundless.

MY RATING:

4 stars!! It was really good, and you should put it on your TBR if you enjoy YA Fantasy.
