Books That Have Been On My TBR The Longest And I Still Haven’t Read #TopTenTuesday

This is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week, they post a new Top Ten list that one of their bloggers will answer. Everyone is welcome to join!

Today's list is:

Books That Have Been On My TBR The Longest And I Still Haven't Read

The Complete Chronicles of Narnia
by C.S. Lewis
(The Chronicles of Narnia, Books #1-7)
I have had this boxset since I was a child, and I've never finished! I know, it's shameful!! I have read the first two books (The Magician's Nephew and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) both as a child and as an adult, but I've stalled out there and never finished the series. I adore the books, but I just really need to finish this series!

Anne of Green Gables
by L.M. Montgomery
Here is another boxset that I've owned since my childhood and never read! It's practically required reading for every Canadian child, and I can't believe that I've haven't gotten to these books.

Little House on the Prairie Boxed Set
by Laura Ingalls Wilder
(Little House, Books #1-9)
Are you seeing a pattern here? Actually, I bought this set for my elder daughter so they weren't my own. I always wanted to read this series, but I've never gotten around to it.

The Lovely Bones
by Alice Sebold
I currently have 3,435 books on my Goodreads "To Read" shelf, which are books that I own but haven't read. Sadly, that's not even a complete list because I haven't added all the books that I have stored in boxes in the basement or the Kindle freebies. This one is #1 on my Goodreads "To Read" list.

The Secret Life of Bees
by Sue Monk Kidd
This one is #2 on my Goodreads "To Read" list. I actually did start it once but abandoned it. I still intend to pick it back up again.

Eat Pray Love
by Elizabeth Gilbert
This one is #3 on my Goodreads "To Read" list.

The Poisonwood Bible
by Barbara Kingsolver
This one is #4 on my Goodreads "To Read" list.

Middlesex
by Jeffrey Eugenides
This one is #5 on my Goodreads "To Read" list.

Angels & Demons
by Dan Brown
(Robert Langdon, Book #1)
This one is #6 on my Goodreads "To Read" list.

Odd Thomas
by Dean Koontz
(Odd Thomas, Book #1)
This one is #7 on my Goodreads "To Read" list.

So, what books have been on your TBR the longest? Please let me know in the comments, or leave me a link to your blog post if you are also participating in the meme!

  1. The Complete Chronicles of Narnia is a classic! I really liked it, I'm sure you will too.

  2. I read the Narnia books in just a few days. they're really short & I really do like the series.

I read the anne books, well, not quite book #7 & 8 - honestly, when they stop talking about anne and instead focus on her children and other new people, I find it a bit boring but I still think the first six books at least are worth reading.

    have a lovely day.
