Stacking The Shelves and Sunday Post

This meme is hosted by Tynga over at Team Tynga's Reviews, which she describes as follows:
"Stacking The Shelves is all about the books we are adding to our shelves each week, sharing with you our excitement for our newest titles and maybe have you discover a new book in the process!"

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

We got walloped again with more snow, and I was snowed in yet again on Tuesday. Honestly, I don't know where to put the snow anymore. December 2016 was our city's 2nd snowiest month for all Decembers on record, with 67 cm of snow. We were officially named as the snowiest city across Canada for December. We got another 20 cm this week, so here's the view from inside the garage of the drifts on my driveway:

The temp has now dropped, and the upside of that means NO SNOW! It's too cold, LOL! Well, I don't mind hibernating and I was still on holidays this week with the kids so we didn't have to do any major running around. However, tomorrow is back to school for them and work for me! The stay-cation was nice and very much needed. I tried to stay unplugged from phone/internet as much as I could this past week and, because of that, I finished four books! I also reupholstered my living room chairs and replaced all the parts inside the toilet tank. Now it runs silently :)

I went with an animal print for the end chairs and black for the side chairs, so it didn't look too crazy!

It's currently -20 degrees Celsius (that's -5 degrees Fahrenheit), and our overnight low will be -26 degrees Celsius. Here are the latest pics from my backyard:

Someone only identified as "Shane" gifted me with two audiobooks through Audible:

Poetics by Aristotle
The Call of the Wild by Jack London

Thanks, Shane!! I don't know who you are, but you know enough about me to know that I love audiobooks!

  3. Great idea to mix up the fabrics with both wild and tame. I personally really like animal print.
How nice of this Shane to have gifted you those books. I still haven't read Call of the Wild and it is on a bunch of my challenge lists.
All that snow! Week after week. We have none here, of course, but we do have some bitter cold weather for this are. I actually saw a man walking down the street wrapped in a blanket. My husband and I agree that it is acceptable to layer on whatever you have when you are living down here in a cold snap.

  4. We've had cold weather, but not the snow. Tomorrow should be in the 30's and I'm looking forward to getting outside for a walk with my dog.

  5. Wow. The snow hasn't went down since last time you shared photos. It's been rain here and now freezing cold. I'm counting days til spring and watching as each day gets a wee bit longer:) Enjoy listening to those new reads. I loved Call Of The Wild.
