Guest Post and Giveaway with Denise Robbins, author of Phish NET Stalkings

Hi, everyone!

I am pleased to participate in Denise Robbins' Phish NET Stalkings Virtual Book Publicity Tour hosted by Pump Up Your Book.

About Denise:
High-tech becomes high-risk in Denise Robbins’ novels. The New Hampshire based author uses two decades of experience in computers to explore the killer possibilities in technology. Denise integrates her knowledge of computers and technology along with secrets, intrigue, suspense, and even a little romance into all of her techno-romantic thriller novels. Readers and reviewers agree Denise writes stories that will keep you at the edge of your seat and clamoring for more.

Her latest book is Phish NET Stalkings.

Ten Things You Might Not Know About Denise Robbins
by Denise Robbins

So you want to know about me. That’s simple enough. Ready? Here goes.

  1. I’m a big believer in celebrating birthdays. Not just by having cake…although it is very important to have that chocolate cake annually. But to do something different that I wouldn’t always do. Here are a couple of examples, I got my belly button pierced for one birthday, a Celtic knot tattoo for another, and went skydiving for another. See, celebrating in a big way!
  2. I’ve recently become very interested in family history and have started a family tree. The stories you find about your long dead relatives are fascinating and colorful. I could write a book just on those people. Our forefathers weren’t afraid of a challenge and they knew how to turn a bad situation into a good one.
  3. My ex-husband and I were married underwater. Nope, not in a glass-bottom boat. We were married while scuba diving. The vows were written on a whiteboard made for divers. We exchanged rings and kissed under water when the preacher wrote, “You may now kiss the bride.”
  4. I’m a closet gardening fanatic. Since I bought my house five years ago, I have become obsessed with flowers. Every summer I build myself a new garden in my yard. Oh! And I always order way too many bulbs. But it’s so much fun to watch them come up and bring some color to my yard. Truth be told, it’s my tomboy side coming out. I just like playing in the dirt.
  5. Here’s a boring fact. I haven’t owned a car in over fifteen years. How do I get to work? I have a car, but I lease them. I decided a long time ago that owning a car was too expensive, especially when you put the kind of mileage I do on my car.
  6. My favorite places to write are my back deck and Panera. My back deck is fantastic in the summer time. I can curl up on my big cushioned chairs, sit under an umbrella and write while listening to music and the old roller coaster from the nearby amusement park. On Sunday mornings, I get up at my regular o’dark hundred and drive twenty minutes north so I can go to Panera. I get a cinnamon roll (my once a week treat) and a Mountain Dew, and then I take a seat in a booth, pull out my little netbook and write. Why Panera? Because no one will disturb me and yet I can still listen to the voices and reactions of the patrons around me.
  7. Every year I try to learn something new. For some reason I am addicted to learning. I’ve learned to sing, to make chocolate, to decorate cakes, to scuba dive, etc. What am I learning this year? This year I am endeavoring to run a half-marathon…in Ireland. If you’re going to do something, do it big.
  8. Last year was the first time I went to Ireland. I fell in love! I’m going back this year for the half-marathon as well as to spend two weeks there. Picture green rolling hills, one-lane roads, sheep, pubs, and friendly people everywhere you go. Next year I may try Scotland.
  9. I’m a Midwest girl. I say pop instead of soda, purse instead of pocketbook, and I like red meat. Give me a good filet any day! Or last year I bought a smoker (took two days to put together), probably because of the margaritas, but I make a mean rack of ribs and a pork butt to die for. Just ask me for my rub and sauce recipe. Mmm…mm.
  10. A couple years ago, I started taking shooting lessons from an ex-Marine Gunnery Sargent. It’s outdoors and there is something about knowing how to control something so dangerous and powerful. And if you are going to learn, I say learn from the best and a military sniper is the best.

Thanks so much for joining us today, Denise!

One lucky winner will win a paperback copy of Phish NET Stalkings.

All she wanted was to find love. Was that too much to ask? How difficult could it be to find one man, the perfect man for her?

After dating the losers of the century, Jane decides there has to be a better way. She turns to an online dating service. After all, they guarantee a ‘happily ever after’ or your money back.

Jane East, CEO of Not-So- Plain- Jane’s organic cosmetics wants to fall in love with a man who makes her toes curl when he kisses her. Unfortunately, the one man who makes her toes curl also wears ladies’ pink underwear and a badge. The pink underwear she could probably deal with, but the badge is a different story.

Ever since seeing her mother and granny Pearl murdered by men with badges, Jane has a fear of cops and anyone who carries a badge. Especially, because the killers are still on the loose and searching for her.

Former FBI Cybercrime special agent turned small-town Chief of Police, Cooper Chance, gets caught with his pants down and his family jewels tucked in pink ladies’ underwear with lacy frills when he meets the woman of his dreams. That’s not his only issue. The woman has a fear of cops. If he can get past her guard, maybe he can save her life.

  1. This was one of the most fascinating author interviews I have read! I love that she does something so exciting on each birthday. WOW! I think her life sounds like a lot of fun and reading this interview made me want to read her book!

Unfortunately, Rafflecopter does not seem to be working (it wouldn't let me enter my email or anything). I will stop back and see if it works later. :)
